Proposed 2016 FLSA Overtime Exemption Law Changes

If your business hires employees and you haven’t heard about the “white collar exemptions” change, you should know about this proposed rule that’s expected to be implemented in 2016. Currently, employees making less than $23,660 must be hourly and are eligible for overtime pay. When this change goes into effect, if it mirrors the proposed law released in 2015, many employees making less than $50,440 annually will need to become hourly employees. They will then also be eligible for overtime at time and half pay!
